I have just put a 788ci di on the front of my boat and I am getting some interference as soon as I step on the trolling motor. Motorguide said I needed a bigger cranking battery because thats were I have the graphs hooked up at. The battery that is in there now 625 marine cranking and 700 cold cranking. They said to get one that is a 1000 cranking amps. What battery would you all recommend?

You might try some other troubleshooting ideas first...before spending money on a new battery that may not be the problem...
Make sure no other electronics are on when you test for interference....
Make sure sonar unit power wires are not connected to TM batteries...test for interference
Remove xducer from TM and stick in water (temporarily) FAR away from TM...test
Run temporary sonar power wires from head unit to battery FAR away from any other wires (even down the floor of the boat)and test for interference....

Make sure you are powering the 788 from the starting battery and not the TM battery. FYI never connect electronics to a trolling motor battery.

My graphs are hooked to the cranking battery thats why I cant figure out why I am getting interference when I step on the tm.
