    Default Lowrance Configuration

Alright, I'm going to buy a Lowrance HDS. Compact in size is good and probably won't be interested in anything above an HDS 7. I would like 2d, Down and Side scan. I don't need maps or Sirius radio. I do need the transducers. I have a LMS-520c and am also wondering if I can network the two. I'll most likely mount the units side by side so I might consider a unit without the 2d. Is there a "Plain Jane" package to be had while not purchasing things I'll never use?

I just need someone in the know to enlighten me as to what exactly it will take to create the unit I would like.

All HDS units that have sonar are full function, so there are no sidescan options that don't have 2D sonar as well. You'll need an HDS and an LSS-1. The 520 and HDS can be networked via ethernet and/or NMEA-2000 depending on what functions you want to share.

Like catfan said, but you want to buy the basemap HDS and an LSSS-1. + ethernet Basemap will save a couple hundy's.

Yes but I believe you will have to get a adapter to plug in HDS unit

Yeah, but there's really no reason to go through the trouble. The internal is good.

Yeah, that'd be great, as far as I know you should be able to post it on this thread.
