Minn Kota speed control question
I just got a bigger (endura 55) tiller motor to replace my old 30. Its bigger than I wanted, but it came from a work barter so I cant complain.
I use the small tiller motor on the back when I take a partner with me longlining, who cant run the front motor.
The 30 on "1" would push me at the perfect speed with a fresh battery, and then when the battery started to tire, I would just kick it up to "2." Im sure the 55lb is going to be too fast. I could just drag the sock, but I would rather not.
Can I hardwire one of the hand speed controllers that come with the engine mount trollers? Or another sort of "dimmer" type switch?
any help or guidance is much appreciated.

seems like the speed controll is an internall setting, with voltage controll circuits. be carefull on dropping the input voltage, could cause some damage. drift sock may be a better way to go.
