    Default Batteries????????????

Time to battery up. load test bad after 6 years. Looks like Walmart is out of the TM battery business. So who has the best deals?

I use Auto Zone Duralast, they seem to last around 3 years then need to be replaced. I was hoping to switch to Wally World, just hoping for something better.

I don't know how often you make it to Jackson but they have an Interstate distributor there. You may have one close to your neck of the woods. Point is they sell "blems" with a warranty. Blem as in cosmetic but no damage to the plates. They'll even load test them for you. Cost about 1/2 of retail.

I always got my batteries from there and when we moved over here to Chatty I was happy to find out there is a distributor close by me. Picked up a starter battery a few months back that had been rotated on the shelf for a year. Price was about $45.

The Everstart, Duralast and Interstate are all the same Johnson Controls battery. So is the Energizer at Sam's Club. Go for the best deal/warranty you can find and you should be good to go. Make sure you get a new one! Walmart has a sticker on them showing the month they were made.

Your old set may be the maintenance free model. The new ones are not maintenance free.

I hear a lot of good stuff about the blue top batteries, but their price is high. Optima battery? 3 times the charges that a standard battery will take they last a long time under guiding conditions. Other than those I believe Interstate to be about as good as they get. My trollers came from Wally, so when they go I'll be in the same shape you are. Let us know the outcome.

Those will be Deka/East Penn batteries. Should be decent.
