    Default tips for mounting 898si

My wife just bought me a 898 si unit for our anniversary and valentines day. I was just curious if you had any tips before I started mounting everything especially the transducer. What would be the best place to put the transducer? I am putting it on a zx180 skeeter.

No help here from me. But I am also looking at the 898. Are you planning to put the transdors on the trolling motor or in the back?

check out the yahoo side imaging forum ....you will have to register but it is free, they have tons of photos from different boat on mounting, you can also take a pic of the back of your boat and some of the gurus on there will tell you where to mount it

Just posted a similar question you will see it under side imaging..asked if turning your trolling motor with SI will distort your view. Response was yes. They said people do put SI on the trolling motor but there are some things that occur when not going straight or turning..I think am getting ready to purchase a Lowrance hds 8 and with only 1 SI unit i will put it in the drivers console and link it to my front unit. I also think you have to be traveling at a pretty good clip for Side Imagine to be optimal..I have read 3-5 mph.thats pretty fast with a trolling motor..
