Okay, so 25 people here think H/B's GPS is under par, yet there's probably 10's of thousands of units out there that people are satisfied with. You are affecting people's interest in H/B units, and I'm giving a rebuttal that for the great majority of people it isn't an problem. This is an open forum, the issue deserves to see both sides of the story.

Unless you are a shareholder in the company, what interest could you possibly have in what units people buy? This isn't a sales pitch, but why shouldn't potential buyers know what they are purchasing? This thread is not for defense of HB, or sales, it's about trying to get HB to get the programming corrected.

Well, I'd have to guess that the folks at H/B are a little smarter than you and I. So if it was an important, or just an easy software change it would have been done. For now I'd have to assume they don't feel it's an issue. I think it's important to make my comments because frankly the alternative electronics all have their downfaults also. I don't want folks to just write H/B off due to this GPS thing, and buy another product that could give them more problems.

Thumbs up I have a solution..

I own a HB 777c2...I really like this unit since HB Greg, Tommyboyrn, Shellback & others helped in getting it set-up....Now with this unit & my trustworthy Garmin 76CSX & 276C I can find brush without a problem..Thumbs UpThumbs Up

I think the smart thing for me to do is wait this situation out.

Until then I will sit over brush with my 2D sonar and watch fish hit my jig...I would like to have a DI unit but I really don't need to know how many limbs are on a tree..:D

I hope this problem works out for all .

Hey Don, I know you can't rely on the little bitty screen of the 76 CSX to stay on a brushpile. You would be spending more time looking at the GPS, rather than watching the fish take your jig! LOL. Gene is on the mend since his shoulder surgery. A friend took him and his boat to Kerr Monday. Lots of wind but they caught some fish. I beeter vacate this thread, I've stirred up too much trouble already. Just gotta defend my H/B.

Nice. And you did to a fab job of defending HB. I think 2 units complete with Donut just sold at the BPS in Kansas City. They mentioned you by name. LOL

This thread wasn't an attack on HB, it highligts the donut, and the desire to have that changed.

And Stymie, since you inquired about my HB ownership, how many Lowrance units do you own. Seems you post a lot on Lowrance, and I don't question it, but I post on an HB thread, and contact HB about it, you make it seem like I have no right?

I would buy HB again, if they fix that. Ethernet was my other wish list item, and that's been done.

TMike is not a HB pro staff he buys his units.

Thanks for that Justin. If you look at Tmike's official website, in the sponsors list there is HB. So if I understand what you are claiming, they sponsor him, but provide nothing?

Never heard of that before. Thanks man.

mduncan, you're being bad unfair to Tmike. He's a heck of a good guy and has helped folks a ton over the years just for the asking. Don't know Doug personally, but I'm sure the same is true of him.

Yes, the HB Donut deal stinks to high heaven, but to malign either Doug or Tmike to get your point accross or to accuse them of being a patsy for HB just because they may be sponsored....that stinks more. It's guys like them with actual contacts into HB that can help get this thing address and beating them up for having the audacity to speak about it isn't going to help.

Now...say your're sorry and play nice.
