    Default Question for Humminbird Greg

Hello Greg. One more question and I will quit bothering you. I want to get the quadrabeam transducer but I want the "split screen" on my depth finder. I am talking about were it shows what is under the boat on the top and what is left of the boat on bottom left - what is right of the boat on bottom right. Do I need the quadrabeam plus? Also...I know the quadrabeam transducer is compatible with my 757c but is the quadrabeam plus? Thanks again.

It's actually not "plus" It's T for Temp. Listed the description of both from the HB website below. If you want temp, buy T, if you don't buy the one without T. Reference Humminbird :: Fishfinder :: Depth Finder :: GPS Chartplotters :: Side Imaging Sonar Technology :: Marine Fish Finders

    XNT 9 QB 90
Quadra Beam, 20/60/90 Degree, 200/83/455 kHz.

    XNT 9 QB 90 T
Quadra Beam, 20/60/90 Degree, 200/83/455 kHz with built in temperature.

Hello Mduncan! Well that is why I am confused. I was watching a video on youtube where it had the split screen and it called it quadrabeam plus. So then I googled quadrabeam plus wanting to order one and it pulled up links were some call them quadrabeam plus and some are just quadrabeam.

    Thanks for your help.

Hold on a sec. The Quadra Plus appears to be a software reference on the unit. If you look at the screenshots for the 2 transducers I listed, they show the quadra plus images. So you should be good to go with either one.

Sorry, I saw the T and made a wrong assumption. Hope I helped more then I confused.

I think that whole “Plus” deal started as a way to distinguish those units that could show the sonar returns from each beam separately from the other beams, so as mduncan62 said: “it’s a software reference to the unit”. There are some units that use the QuadraBeam that cannot display the sonar information from its downwards-and-to-the-side pointing 455kHz sonar beams separately.

All of this is true with DualBeam and DualBeam Pluss units (the Plus units can display the two 2D sonar beam information separately).

Oh, and Mike; don’t worry about asking only this one question!

Thanks Greg and everyone else. I got the new quadrabeam transducer and all my problems with the fishfinder are solved. I also love how the new quadra beam works.
