    Default Connector on transducer cable?

I like my Humminbird finders and their snap mounts, but they aren't conducive to removing your bowmount with a clamp on transducer. If you want to remove your T/M, you have to take the mount off and remove the xducer plug from the mount. Has anyone cut the cable and spliced a plug onto each end for a quick disconnect? I've got a dual beam transducer with temp, so I'd guess there are a number of wires in the cable.

I use the 10' transducer extension cable so I have an inline plug I can detach and remove the TM. The extension stays with the head unit.

I guess that's the simplest solution, but you are left with a lot of cable to store.
