Lakemaster chip

Has anyone used lakemaster chips for truman lake? buying a new humminbird 597ci di hd and need to know if there is a chip that will work for that unit from Lakemaster or Navionics for truman lake. I have a fishing hotspots (fhsp-s southern usa- 286 premier lakes) put out buy LEI. seriel # 051-2924-00. Wondering if this chip will work in the humminbird or is ther a better chip for truman lake out there that will work for that unit. I preordered the humminbird from the factory outlet store. They will not be available till mid feb so cannot put my old chip in to try it. any help appreciated.

The 597ci DI HD unit will only use the Humminbird-LakeMaster mapping cards and the Navionics Premium mapping cards. I would check the web sites of each of these companies to see if they have mapping cards that cover the lakes that you want and also at what detail level.

I contacted humminbird today. They told me I could use either the hotmap or hotmap preimium.They also gave me the # of navionics and I called them. They also said I could use either the navionic hot map or hot map premium. I told them i needed a map of truman lake as I am going there in the end of april. They said the map on either chip was the same and if that is all I needed The lower priced hot map would be sufficent for thr humminbird.

Sorry badaxed, I always forget about the Navionics Hotmaps mapping cards. They are right though: why spend more $$$ on a Premium card when the same data is on the HotMap card. Did you happen to look at the lake list to see if any of the other lakes you fish are in the HD format on the Premium map card?

Greg: Thanks for your help. I mostly fish the upper Mississippi River in Wisconsin. I orderd a lake master chip of Wisconsin for the Humminbird 597ci di HD That I preordered from the factory outlet store. I just needed the chip for Truman lake when My neighbor "OTD" and I will be going to crappie camp in the spring. As an old scoutmaster I learned it is better to "be prepared".

I understand badaxed as I am still in the BSA as an ASM.
Both of my sons have earned their Eagle with one as a fellow ASM and the other as the CM in the Pack.

Congratulation on your son becoming an eagle scout and as scout leaders. I know how much work and dedication goes into achieving both eagle and scout leadership. My son is also an eagle scout. I had three boys in my unit become eagle and all except one boy achieved the rank of at least first class scout. Thanks for your help on this site. I ordered a "Wee Vee" Guard for my trolling motor based on your suggestion on a different post. I had never heard of this protection device before. I have in the past broken two transducers on stumps. Now hopefully that will not happen with the new protection from TransducerArmor that you so graciously recommended. Thanks again Greg.
