Down imaging speed

at what speed do you need to be moving to get a good pic with the DI.Looking to get a new unit for the bow but if the DI wont work at slow speeds then I need to look in another direction I guess.

I got an 898 HB and unless your stopped dead it works fine Got the transducer mounted on the trolling motor and the SI works just fine as long as your not turning the motor and the DI works fine unless your sitting still. Then I just switch screens to the fishfinder screen with all the colors and fish blips. I think it says the ideal speed is up to 6 mph.

Are you talking down imaging or side imaging? I was under the impression DI works while sitting still while you need to be moving for the SI to work. Either way I'll find out here soon as I finally decided to pull the trigger on a new fish finder.

As I understand it Lowrance DI units will not have 2D Sonar, just DI..

What then is the advantage of DI if it doesn't work while sitting still? And, if Lowrance doesn't have 2D does the DI look like the 2D while sitting still?

The DI on my 1197 works all the time, sitting or moving.

mine works slow,stoppid or 5mph, I have lowrance, 5, 7,and 8
