Can't remember the model numbers, but they'll have replacements that have the Down Imaging without the Side Imaging. Guessing they'll have the new video out capability too, but not sure on that one.

Bass Pro's Thanksgiving sale ad just out. Humminbird 788 ci $499.99 and 798ci Si Combo $799.99 while quantities last. What's coming out in 2011? Should I wait or pull the trigger on one of these?

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
cabelas has the same deal on the 788ci i am sure thinking about it.

Leadhead,
The 798ci Si Combo and 788ci Combo units are not changing for 2011 except that they will now have the “HD” designation in their model names (798ci HD Si Combo and 788ci HD Combo).
There is a new 788ci HD Di Combo unit though and as Wannabe stated it will have our new Down Imaging sonar in it but will give up the 83kHz 60 degree sonar beam to have this (existing models cannot be upgraded to use the new Down Imaging sonar).
The 1197c Si unit is being replaced by the 1198c Si unit. New internal electronics but outwardly what you will see is a brighter display.
I have not heard of any announced changes to the GPS.
Thanks Greg, that helps a lot. Do you have any idea what the 788 ci HD combo will sell for?
I believe that the 788ci HD Combo will retail for $699.99 - although the prices you stated are $200 less than that.
FYI: the 788ci HD Di Combo will retail for $799.99
THANKS to Greg for info
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.....

Not familiar with Hummingbird lingo. When will Hummingbird come out with a competitor to the HDS Lowrance units (appearance on the screens) or is this new "HD" it?
