    Default HB Greg & tommyboyrn

Here is a couple of pictures of my 777c2 taken today..I finally got the jig to show up but it seems that a lot of clutter did also....I had to go to the 200khz only & a 17 setting on sensitivity to get a clear picture..I tried everything.. With all this clutter on the screen it is impossible for me to determine what is brush and what isn't..Do you have any idea what all this clutter is?

The Eagle 480 was much more defined and you could actually see a fish come up after the jig or come up and look and then go back down....You would think the newer technology would at least be as good.Name: HB Sonar Pictures 002.jpg

I haven't been out yet to check mine since I upgraded. I'm hoping to go out Monday morning. Before the upgrade< my sensitivity was set that high, but even then its didn't have that much clutter. I will post pics when I go out.

does it have that much clutter using the 200/83?
were you able to see the jig using the 200/83 sonar beam, or just the 200?

The only way I could see the jig was with the 200khz beam, in Switchfire Max Mode & Sensitivity on 17..If I bumped the Sens down to 16 the jig color would be so faint that I could barely see it..

I could not see the jig with the 200/83 beam regardless of sensitivity or switchfire mode..

Maybe Greg can help us out..

I get the same results when I use the Switchfire Max Mode I have not been able to figure out how to use it But in Clear Mode with sens turned up to about 15 I can see a jig. But I think I'm using different colors than you, mine shows up as a thin green line. Not nears as thick as yours.
But I tried to get a full fish arce on the 777 friday and could not I could get about half at best, But I know it can be done because I turned right around and done it with the 1197. I think I even have some snapshots (I just remembered :p). I will power up and see.

OK, I have found something new by reading the manual again...:D

The pictures above are once again in the 200khz beam, Switchfire Max Mode & sens on 17..

I found out that you can set the 83khz sensitive setting without affecting the 17 setting on the 200khz beam.. My 83khz setting is 0 now which is the factory default...

The next time out I will set the beam setting at 200/83, the switchfire to Clear Mode and increase the 83khz setting from 0 to +10 in steps to see if this helps....It is strange that the 83khz sens setting is from -10 to +10 with 0 in the center which is factory default..The 200khz setting is from 0 to 20..

    I sure hope this helps..

Alan, I will also try the other color palets to see if this helps..

Nothing other than the settings that I posted above..As big as it is I can reduce the sensitivity by 1 or 2 and it will fade out..

when I attempted to adjust my settings so that I would see the jig, I was not seeing much on the main screen. I read the manual and when using the RTS window (mine set in narrow) the RTS window shows only the 200 beam, so I would drop it under the transducer and bounce it and would barely see it on the main screen but would see it on the RTS window. I would adjust sensitivity until I was able to see a solid line and then I backed off till I could intermittently see it.
BUT.......that was before the upgrade so we will see how it goes tomorrow and will let yall know if any difference.

im just glad its not only me having these issues. you would think as much as these things cost, we wouldn't be having this much trouble out of them.

Hey Don G and HB greg,

I just poseted on the other thread my settings and findings from today. In my pics of switchfire max mode I didn't have ANY clutter, no thermocline, no "plankton" no nothing like the website, nor the videos about switchfire on youtube.
Is there a way to totally get back to BEFORE I upgraded, totally take switchfire off the menu and then re-upgrade? this is getting frustrating.
Don g, I was using the 200/83 beam, dropping jig right under trolling motor in 22 fow to get tracing. Started with sensitivity bout 18 then slowly decreasing till bout 12-13.
I wonder if my pics were different because I didnt upgrade correctly or it didnt install correctly.......
Dont know, but if it didnt cost so much I would trash it and get something different
