ping speed 75, chart speed 100, sensitivity 74-78, noise reduction and surface clutter on low. Just IMO

Ditto! The Eagle doesnt give PERFECT arches but neither do most of the units. You can try adjusting the transducer some trying to have it flat perpendicular to the water and that is about all else I can tell ya. Idling speed up to 5 mph gives the best screen in my opinion.

The unit produces excellent bottom detail even with fish symbol enabled. Do I miss more fish having it on? I mostly fish lakes that are under15' in depth.

IMO, you want to keep the fish symbol off. you get better true return.

I didn't know there was a ping speed. I'll try all the settings next time I'm out. Thanks.
Note: surface band is quite large and though I hear the fish alarm, I don't see fish nearer surface.
