OK. Since Cane Pole might not have followed this post....

The normal boat shaped icon on the HB screen shows the direction the boat is traveling. When the speed becomes less than 0.5mph the boat shaped icon turns into a "hollow circle" shaped icon which HB explains as the GPS is not sure which way the boat is moving.

But, if you read this quote from Greg...{Because someone decide that below a certain speed (which looks to be 0.5mph) that the Humminbird units would not show a directional arrow. My guess is that this was all set up when we had less accurate GPS Receivers and was just never revised. Or maybe they have looked at this again but feel like at those speeds that there is just too much variability in the GPS system and our GPS Receiver still to be 100% all the time. }....It sounds like that "donut" is a carryover from the older (less accurate) GPS systems that HB feels like it's not worth updating to the level of directional capabilities that other brands already employ.

I mean, let's face it....IMO... the bass fishermen is the market target that HB is most interested in and the bass fishermen doesn't ever fish below 0.5mph anyway.....

Therefore...again IMO...it's gonna take a LOT of screaming from us fishermen that fish slower than 0.5mph before "the powers that be at HB" (not Greg..he's on our side) will listen to us...
