Default Motor guide turns to easy

I have a 46 lb thrust Motor Guide Pro series that when you take your foot off of the pedal it wants to turn all the way to the right. Haven't found and way to tighten it up where it will stay straight when you let off on the pedal. Anyone have a cure, fix, or work around for this problem. Thanks before hand for any come back.

    Thumbs up

I do.I had the same problem. I learned right here off crappie.com a fix, so I tried it, and it works great. I didn't want to take credit for somebody elses great idea here. Anyway, what you do, is go by one of the big box hardware stores, I got mine at Home Depot, or Lowes one, and buy a plumbing repair kit. What you need is basically just a rubber hose like 3 inches long, and its got two hose clamps, one for each side and you mount this right where your shaft rotates which is about middle ways of your trolling motor. The upper diameter is larger than the bottom shaft, so what I did, was tighten the lower clamp super tight, and the upper clamp the tightness I needed to get the motor to stay at my desired position and not rotate without me rotating it.This fix will cost you about 2 to 3 bucks max.Mines been on all year and I really like it.Only drawback is it dont turn real easy if you go to make a big turnaround you have to press pretty hard on the pedal, but the trade off is well worth it to me. I may could even loosen mine some and it still hold but Ive never adjusted from where I put to start with.
    P.S.
Remember to get you something like a razor blade in order to cut the hose open so you can wrap it around your TM shaft. I also bought two larger diameter hose clamps so they would be easier to use.The upper clamp needs only be semi tight so it can slip but the lower clamp super tight. Good luck.GCF

Thanks for the come back GCF. I'm going into town tomorrow morning so I'll pick up a kit and install it. Appreciate the help. Sure gets to be a pill sometimes. Again thanks for the help.
