    Default For around 400-500 bucks

and keeping in mind that I have a 997 already. What would be the best humminbird for the bow of my boat. One where I could interlink them to get way points from the 997 to the front. I have a Lowrance 520C with a GPS puck already but you can't interlink them so I guess I'll sell the 520C along with a Garmin 120 and some other Humminbird I have that came with the bay boat to get the cash to pay for all the items I need

778C is a sonar only unit, but will accept GPS input to mark waypoints, display speed, time, position, etc. It won't display any mapping though. Great unit, I have one and have the GPS input from my Garmin 498C.

Check the second page of this board. A guy was saying he found a source for 788's for around 530 bucks or so.

    Cool 767 & 768

If you don't have to have the color screen there are a few of the 767's & 768's still floating around on the net. I think they are discontinued units but may be still supported by HB. I have seen them under $400. Here is a link for 1 around $400. .

My advice is go with a unit with gps and you can stay right on top of creek ledges and structure.
