I think you might have something going on with your charger. If it's a good charger, it should idle down as the batt. reaches full charge so not to cause the sulfate condition talked about earlier. I have two Optima 34M in my 5th wheel and two in my boat for the 24v circuit. I get days and days on them and have had them a couple of years now.
