Need a New Humminbird !
My old Wide Eye has been on the front of the boat so long I don't know how old it is , but it's starting to get a light spot in the middle of the screen.
Want to replace it with a 570 But reports say that the 570 doesn't read below 5 ft , I do a lot of fishing in 2 and 3 ft (Bass ) so does anyone use this unit , How about the 728 I know its $ 100 more but has 6xx x 320 res. I am looking for the best res. for the money and to be able to fish in shallow water.

I too want to to replace my wide eye, but I guess our models are so old nobody knows it. Do you expect to just pop it on your wide eye mount or get a new one ?

I think the 570 or the 728 is the same mount as the wide eye , I hope Humminbird Greg would resprond , He would know .

probably will I have a 565 mounted on an old wide eye mount all I had to do was change the 'ducer cable I also have a 161 gps that fits the same mount. you have to watch the 'ducer pins to make sure they match or change the cable. power cord is same on all of them.Originally Posted by RiceRocket

I am not Greg, but I will answer. The mount is the same and also the power cable is the same. The only thing you will have to change is the transducer cable and the bracket that holds the cables into the mount.

Am going to get the 728 . I would like to put the Transducer on the trolling motor , do I need to buy a different one or is there a way to swap for one that will install on the trolling motor , I have asked two different company's they will not swap the transducer ?????????
