    Default No depth reading

Just moved my 998 to a new boat and now I'm not getting a depth reading. Every thing else is fine, SI, speed, etc, just no depth. I have gone to the settings and tried to reset it but where the depth should be, it's blank. Any ideas??

Check your transducer cable. The DI/SI signals and sonar signals are in the same cable but use a different pair of wires for RX/TX. Look in the connector end and see if you have a bent pin.

Disconnect and reconnect your cables. Could be a connection problem. Try this several times. Be sure the cable is on tight, but not jar head tight.

Maybe. Maybe not. If the head unit ain't transmitting, then the xducer ain't gonna tick.

Note it may be hard to see if pin is bent, look in socket hole you will see all it takes is to be bent one-half thickness of a hair not to make contact- awhile back some models some had pins were not making contact til bent just a little, About your setting did U check to see which ducer you have selected--should be the hi-def (HD transducer). just a couple thoughts Do U know anybody with a Side image unit would be interesting to pull your boat along side theirs so U could plug U ducer in their unit.............
