I used everyone of the suggestions on it. Don't know how it will work out, just did it this last weekend.
The reason I am bringing this back up is because of what else I found....
My electric winch was giving me problems. I had a breaker on it instead of a fuse. I could hear the breaker kicking in and out indicating to me there was a short. I was using a test light to search for the short with the clip attached to the negative side of the battery. Accidently, I discovered I was getting a current between the hull of the boat and the negative side of the battery. Knowing the winch was shorting, I cut the wire to the positive post.
Might not be an epithany to most. But, I have never seen this before. The winch is now in the trash. Now I will have to start taking my wife to operate the aft anchor again.:D
But, Maybe I will get some more time out of the battery when pulling cranks now.
