    Default Trolling Motor Transducer

I have a Minn Kota trolling motor (Co-Pilot)

How in the heck are you suppose to put a hockey puck on the bottom of one of these?
I cannot figure out how to run the wire from the transducer the right way...

You cant tape it except on the top and the bottom because the shaft slides thru the transmission of the motor and that does not seem like enough to keep it out of the way when putting it in the water or taking it out.....

    Thanks in advance

Maybe you can fabricate a piece of wood to fit behind the fin.. mount the transducer to the piece of wood and use a pipe clamp to attach the wood to the trolling motor.. I used to have one setup this way... I see if I still have it and put up a pic later...

the problem I was having was the wire going to the transducer and getting it out of the way... I have the hockey puck that fits perfectly with the hose style clamp on it.

The Minn Kota slides the shaft all the way thru the transmission and locks in at the top and this makes it to where the only two places you can secure the transducer cable is to the extreme top just under the head of the trolling motor and at the extreme bottom at the foot....

The reason I liked this one is because it had a remote control, but I have a motor guide that works great with the transducer and so I think I will just stick with that..

    Thanks for the help ...

what you describe is the way I have mine and it works just fine, just keep an eye on the cable when you deploy and retrieve. used zip/cable ties to hold it in position also drilled a small hole in the skeg and tied the cable there to keep it away from the prop.

yea, I have the motor guide that completely tucks the wire out of the way so I think I will just use that one...

    Thanks

Have you looked at the sticky post at the top? There are several 'how-to' post there. One of them may help you.

I'd also invest in one of these...Transducer Shield and Saver
