    usually mine starts flashing when its looses consistent lock on the bottom. transducers never lasted with full sensitivity for me more than a dozen trips. I had lots of troubles with my lawrance

    In 1 ft of water my HDS units go to a total green screen. I don't adjust or worry about it because what you would be looking at. The bottom of the cone is way too small an area to be of any use anyway at that depth. Much shallower an my tm is gonna hit the bottom anyway. At 2 ft it goes back to normal.

    At 2.5 feet you are only looking at approximately .8 square feet on thes screen. That aint much!
