    Default side imaging

I have searched and read a number of posts, as well as doing some sluething off site on the HB SI models. As much as I would like the screen size of an 1197, I am leanning towards the 898 models.

As always I like to ask my fellow CDC friends for their advice/opinions. That mean you CP. So first off, do I invest in the NVB bundle or buy the individual cards? Is it better to go w/ external GPS antenna, or internal? Can I interlink this with my 727?

Let me have it people. Thanks.

I just got a 798 with the bundle and wish I would have opted for the card instead. The bundle is the 2006 version of maps which I was unaware of at the time. I have internal gps due to space issues on my boat but the external is supposed to work better.

I opted not to get the bundle, which I was persuaded that way from previous posts I had read, and went with the card. I am happy with what I have. My antenna is also internal although I hear that the external is suppose to be better....For what I use my unit for, I am happy with it.

I have the NVB, but, I'm not impressed with it. If I get another HB, it will be without nvb and I would go with the hot maps premium. I have seen both in action.
In my opinion, the 898 is a good choice and a good bang for the buck.

I now have seen both HB and HDS in action. You can find stuff with either of the units.

I find the HB easy to use, but I have used it 3 years. I have only used the HDS 2 days. Both units have their good and not so good features.

I will probably end up with both. I now use LCX27, HB997, and Garmin gps. This is more than I really need.

I am not siding with any manufacturer, just giving personal observations.

I would also recommend the external antenna. This also is a personal observation.

I don't have or need the interlink, but the "word on the street" is that it sucks. Just my observation.
