Honestly, you may be happier installing a high speed transducer (about $60) with an a-b ducer switch (about $20, as I recall), which is what I did. However, my top end is about 56, and I was losing bottom lock with just the SI at about 20-25.

power problem work out.now will this thing work in hi speed? i have a 88 tracker pro 17 it top speed is 32 on GPS.that's 22 faster than i can get mine two work. i moved the transducer 4 different times,it's to the right between pop rivets & a rib started flush with bottom,now I'm 3/4 below-the bottom.the boat is a flat bottom.about a 1/4 below the Tran's looks like it might be out of the water.if thees work in high speed,can any give advise.or is there somewhere in upstate SC that could fix my problem. thank you..

I have one that works at about 32 mph It has to be in the water without air bubbles. Keep working with it. The Si works best from 3 to 6 mph.
Got mine at Cabelas. You must be looking at a different ducer; you only need the simple one to get a bottom lock.

I have a Ranger with a step hull and my 997 will work at 35mph to 45mph Almost all the time. And some times at 50mph. Boat want go faster than 50mph.
