SD hot map card for lowrance

I have a Hds -7 lowrance I bought the SD map lake card thought I'd get a better view of the lake . I fish out of lake Gaston in NC. I put the card in change the setting from lowrance to SD card, the map shows up but with no detail of lake just a picture of the lake . Is their some other setting that I'm missing ? Thanks in advance for anyone helping me out...jim

Have you tried zooming in? My Hot Maps card doesn't show any contour detail until it is zoomed in a certain amount.

Yea thanks I tried zooming all the way all I get is white no depths or anything . I guess it's my card when my unit is in lowrance mode it works great.

I am not sure what your saying, I have the hotmaps sd card. put it in the HD=7 and select navionics and boom great maps, so is your map from lowrance, or some other brand. you have to select the brand of map, ?

I had the same problem with with a HDS5 on the front of my boat. The card would work in my HDS8 but would not on the 5. I called Lowrance and got the fix. Your unit needs the update loaded. In the beginning Lowrance units were not compatible with navionics and not all units have been updated. Go to Lowrance.com and follow directions. You need the LITE update HDS units. Mine works after adding the update.
