I would love an add on flux gate compass.

Gregg, I have been running some tests with my 997 and Garmin 72 units side by side. I compared the accuracy of speed and most important, the units showing "0" mph (varies signal). Did not see the 997 lose signal once, where as the 72 lost the signal many times. Traveling .8 to 1.2 mph. The HB seems to have better programing on any signals fluctuating. Not once was the HB showing "0". The feature requested should not be a major programming task. Would be a great tool for trolling in lakes with logs on the bottom and from what I have seen on other units, no one has this feature. Could be another first for HB.

I understand Chuck. I have entered it on a Wish List on a web site that I know of that they look for feature suggestions from.

Currently there is no way to connect an i-Pilot and a 997 unit together and I’m not sure that there will be a way to do so in the future. It’s been suggested though.

Well i,m hoping that in another year or so when I buy my I-pilot HB will have a connection from I-pilot to 997/8 or whatever so instead of just 3 tracks on I-pilot I will be able to run it from 997? and run any /all tracks I have on FF. Wouldn.t that be great to just let FF control your boat as u troll along deep ledges, creek channels etc. Why not?? - u-HB already has the Tech to do it-why maybe that's what that extra connection is for on back of all our units, come on bring it out for 2011 you guys HB know u can do it.....
