DANG why did they wait so long to come up with this, first time using one today and boy was I happy, only made a couple goofs. the anchor (spot lock) worked great, sit back and fish let the motor do the thinking for a change, so far so good hope it last. did not use all the functions but checked them out, seemed to work as advertised. mtcw

That spot lock has to be better than me--![]()

I thought my Spot Lock worked great while I was fishing in open water. I tried it Tuesday in a 20 yard wide ditch(no current) and it really let me see how far off it would let me get from the spot. Mine did not come close to keeping me within 5 feet of my point. Mabey I was in a bad spot or something. Other than that it seems ok. with the exception of the advanced AP running across the wind. It is my first AP so it may take some getting use to.
My spot lock works great. I put a marker out to check how good it worked. I always put the boat into any wind or current, pull up to your spot and let the boat stop before you set the spot lock on. I also turn my motor speed down to number 3 or 4 that day. If the wind is up or more current I turn the motor up as needed . this helps with the spot lock over shooting its spot. That what works for me.

Whoa.. I thought the spot lock determined the speed needed. I noticed mine at times would speed up and sometimes it would barely moved the boat.
Sometimes my boat would drift off quite a ways (20--30' before the Ipilot woke up and put me back on spot. I know I would start talking to it "well kick in Da____it"
It ain't nuttin but luck.
It may determine the needed speed. I don't know. All I know is what I do. I have had know problems with staying on the spot. Mine will drift off just a little say 3 to 4 feet and go right back to the spot real slow. I have not been in High wind or strong current. I would say 5 to 10 mph winds. Light current.

well rtark me and the foot control are doing fine, I never had any trouble with it working easy, it did break on me, but the repair shop had one in stock and gave it to me. warranty. I have found out you need to be straight up and down in reference to your positioning to the foot control, better leverage and puts the pressure of the whole foot on the peddel. I played with the remote a bit yesterday. pretty awsome. and I did find you need to be stopped where you want befor you hit the anchor. if your still moving it's hard to tell where the gps got it's fix. and mine adjusted to the wind gust and drifting fine sometimes returned faster and most times slow and steady. luck to y'all
You gettin mighty "hi-tech" there Beagle.....![]()
