    Default Yo Canepole....

I've seen some boats that appear to have their fish finders mounted to conduit or something that sticks a few feet from the front of the boat. What's the advantage of that? Do you recommend that set up? What is needed to dothat?

Are you saying the transducer sticks in front of the boat or the depth finder....??

If you are referring to the transducer like this....

The advantage of this is in the fact that mounting a HB Side imaging unit's transducer to the TM causes the images on the screen to become skewed when turning the TM....

The bracket allows the Xducer to stay in a straight line with the boat to get better images....

You see the brushpile before your boat is on top of it. My father in law had this rigged on his boat. Only thing I didn't like about it was that the transducer would loose contact with water due to waves....

The transducer was on a rigid conduit and the end was curved to allow the xducer to submerge somewhat. The rig stuck out about 6 feet in front of the boat when deployed.
