    Default 997 and Track Line

My 997 started printing the track line about an inch off to the side of the outlined boat when you are viewing it on the lake map screens. The track use to print from directly behind the boat. Does anyone know how to correct this? It makes it difficult to run the edge of creek channels. Also, is the actual location of the boat where the track line is printing or where the diagram of the boat is? Thanks in advance for any help!!

We received a service bulletin about this last summer. Here's the solution:

#1- The user must decide if they want to save the current track.
#2- If they want to save the current track they simply press the MENU button when in the GPS screen and select SAVE CURRENT TRACK. If they don’t care about saving the current track go to step #3.
#3- To realign the boat icon simply press the MENU button when in the GPS screen and select CLEAR CURRENT TRACK.

Once you clear the current track the boat will immediately realign with the track.

are you saying that step 2 will realign the track or do you have to clear the track to realign?

I would go in and save the current track if you still want it (but you had best look at the track since the unit saves the current track line everytime you power the unit off) and delete it if you don't.
Next I would delete any unwanted tracks.
Than I would update the software in your unit.
