    Default Transducer cable splice.

I have an older humminbird TCR-ID 1 I think, anyway, A mouse chewed a bit of the coax and I spliced it back together, Had to splice it in 2 places because I didn't have the right end. It functions for depth, but nothing else really shows up. I haven't been able to find another transducer for it. this unit is on the back of the boat, so depth is the only thing I really need it for, but it would be nice to have it back to par. I have another old Humminbird in the front. I spliced it correctly (water tight, shield completed, solder connections, the whole nine yards)

If I Buy an extension cable and splice it in so that there is only one splice will it work better? Or does anyone know where I can get a transducer for the this old unit.

    Thanks

If you did a good job of splicing than the transducer should work good unless there is a problem with the transducer or unit. So if you feel like you did a good job on the splices than I would look at the unit or transducer as the failure mechanism. We don’t sell these transducers anymore so you may have a hard time finding a replacement.
