    Default Down Imaging

I just found out about the new down imaging "download" that is supposed to be available on HB web site. It aint.

Let me clarify, IF it IS, you need a masters degree in puters to find it. Can someone help me with a specific link to where they hidin it?

Also, what do I need to "link" my unit to the computer? OR do you save the info on a card then insert it into the unit? If so, does it matter which slot?

    I have a 798SI BTW>

Thanks, just a little handicapped when it comes to this stuff.

Log in to the "My account" part of the humminbird website. Once you are there, you will see a section saying what downloads are available for your unit. Download the version 4.78 to your desktop and then copy that to your memory card. After that, put the card back into your fishfinder and turn it on.

IF you have two or more different updates on your card, you will need to delete all but the latest version.

I put my memory card in the right slot because it's easier for me to remove it when I need to update.

I had problems when I tried to download the update. I called H-Bird and after about 10 minutes we figured out that I was using Firefox as my browser and that where the problem was. Once I opened using Internet Explorer as my browser, it was a piece of cake. H-Bird customer service was very courteous and helpful!!

Very easy to update the 798. Just follow Matt's instructions and you will have no problem. Takes about 5 minutes and you are done. You better have your brain cell ready after the update because you will have more views to look at than you can believe.

Cool! I downloaded the down imaging to my desk top and will bring an SD card to work tomorrow to save it to. When you say a "formatted SD card" what does that mean? Just a normal 2G or 4G sd card right out of the pack from Walgreens?

That should work fine. I used the SD card out of my digital camera..I just erased all of the oictures and cleared the card, then downloaded the update on it..Worked just fine.
