Can a I-pilot be hooked up to a 55lb thst terrova??

Im just curious if anyone could answer this question. Im wanting to get the minn kota terrova with universal sonar 2 48in shaft with 55lb thrust but I dont know if you can get the i-pilot hookup for that particular motor. I do not need the 80 or 101lb thrust through. More than anything I really don't want to have another battery in the boat and I very rarely ever use all my battery in a day on my motor guide 12volt system I have now so...... Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, they don't even show the 55lb thrust as an option with I-pilot. I am in the same boat and would appreciate more detailed info... how did you do that? thanks... nccrappiegirl

You'll need to add the i-pilot kit to your Terrova or PD-V2 Minn Kota trolling motor (fresh water). I had to buy my plain vanilla Terrova with the right shaft length and then add the I-Pilot kit to it. 5 minute job. However, the PD-V2 is VERY involved but instructions are with the kit.

There are 5 i-Pilot rigged motors that are offered by MinnKota. 2 of these are Terrovas (80, 101).

If you have an existing motor, it is easy to add the i-Pilot accessory yourself, particularly for Terrovas. i-Pilot can be added to any Terrova and PowerDrive V2 (post 2007).

From what I can see with the latest BPS catalog... you still have to order a unit with Autopilot to get a 55 lb thrust unit with Universal Sonar 2. From what I have read it is a waste of money to have to buy Autopilot only to swap the head out for the I-Pilot. I am still willing to do that if I have to... just hate to waste the money. It is a shame they don't offer the 55 lb thrust Terrova unit with just the Universal Sonar 2.

nccrappiegirl, I have been on the phone all morning and have found our solution. First off, basspro doesnt even list what you and I are looking for nor can they order it in from what the bp electronics manager told me. He is a very smart guy and cannot believe that bass pro wont even let you order any in. His boss told him this morn. that it was because the model you and I are looking for just arent in high enough demand and they don't want to be stuck with the back stock. Hence why they arent even listed in the magazine. Here is what I have found. I called minnkota to ask for sure if an I pilot could would hook up to a 55lb thrust bow mount terrova with us2. He said the I pilot will hoop up to ALL minkota terrovas. I found a terrova online at jandhproducts which was a 48" shaft 55lb thst with Universal sonar 2 for $819.00 and 21 bucks shipping. I ordered It!! Now All i have to do is find someone with the I-pilot now because he is out and so is my local bp. Matter of fact, they have 4 people on the waiting list at my local bass pro shop right now. Minn kota said it is simple to hookup the Ipilot to the terrova!!! Hope this helps ya girl!
