does anybody have a side image transducer on there trollin motor? if so, how does it work? i just got a 997 put it up front and attached the transducer onto my trolling motor. dosent work that great... i've noticed that most of yall have your units on the steering colum with the ducer on the back of the boat. also read that the ideal speed for S.I. is 3-6mph. guess thats why mine isn't doing well trollin at .5mph?? anyone have any suggestions to make my 997si work up front while trollin? thanks for any help

thanks for the reply laserdoc. i guess thats what im gonna have to do? put the lowrance up front and 997 at the wheel. does anybody have a S.I. transducer on there trollin motor that works like it should???
I have mine up front. I built a bracket that comes off my spider rig setup. I put the transducer down when I'm trolling and pull it up when running the 175. I want to know whats by the front of the boat, not whats behind it. Another thing to remember is the gps waypoints are based on where the antenna is, NOT where the transducer or df is.
crappie10...i thought about doing the same thing. i think tite-lock still sales those transducer brackets on a aluminum pole that can be mounted anywhere. i was thinking i could mount it to my rod holder rack when trollin an take it off when running big motor. i agree with ya,i wanna see whats in front of me an not what i've already been over. does your side image work while your spider rigging? it seems like everyone says the S.I. dosen't work at such slow speeds? like .5-1mph
