    Just joined today and also just bought a new 798c si. Was wondering if I would have to upgrade it to the 4.700 before upgrading to the 4.780 which includes the down imaging software? Thanks for any help from anyone

    Nope, no need to do a stepwise update. Just load up the newest software and you'll be good to go.
