Default How much of a difference?

I own a HB 565 dual beam FF with a transom mount transducer. It is currently mounted to the front of my boat with the transducer on the TM. I am looking into getting the puck style (XTM 9 20 T) and was wondering if I would notice a big difference or not. Any help would be great.

None...I am running a 565 on one of my boats now and use it on the trolling motor with a dual beam high speed transom style transducer. I swapped it for a dual beam TM puck type and back again with no difference in sonar results.

So in other words, save my money and buy more fishing tackle?

Or....like I'm doing..Saving my money to upgrade to SI here pretty soon!! But I wouldn't waste it on a puck style xducer if the one you're using is doing the job for you.

Thanks for the help. Wish I had the $$$ for a SI unit, I think I am going to wait for the price to drop on them first.

For those who don't know, Hummingbird will trade the transom mount transducer for the puck style and only charge for shipping and handling. You also have to send in the unopened mounting hardware. I am about to do it myself.

I'm thinking of doing it also. Looks to me like the puck style would be a little more sturdy in brush/stumps.

Or, if you order from three rivers marine electronics, they'll swap the standard tranducer for the one you want at no extra charge and you won't have to pay the shipping charges or wait for the right transducer. Sweet!
