Default Using one transducer for 2 Humminbird units

Thinking of hooking up my 997C and 797C to the same transducer. Now here comes the tricky part. I would like to run them simultaneously. I know they make a switch that you can go back and forth with.

Seems to me it would be possible as signal would be equal to both units if rigged in a parallel. I would be using the 997C's transducer for both.

Reason I ask is , every year I go to new lake in a different state on vacation. Often I want to show partner something on screen and it proves difficult. Besides when wife goes fishing with me she likes to stare at the FF a lot.

Presently the 797c serves mostly as a backup and I am seeking to get a little more use out of it.

Question would be does Humminbird make a wire harness to do this or is it a bad idea ?

There is no switch of wiring harness that would allow this. The problem with doing this would be that both units would have to be in sync for both transmitting and receiving and than one of the units would not be able to transmit. Certain menus in the units would also have to be synced somehow. To do this you are talking a complete redesign of the units and this added feature would cost additional dollars to be able to do this.

    Default Thanks Greg

I should have known forgot about the units also transmitting. Might have to look at that switch again.
