Default Power Drive V2 / Terrova question

I'm stewing on a future purchase (meaning I'm too broke to buy one now, which happens to be when I do my best stewing) of one of these for my boat.

I know the Terrova is the latest and greatest, but other than the foot pedal design, is one superior to the other? The foot pedal is of little concern to me as I plan to have either the Co-Pilot Wireless or the Ipilot for it and probably will not even connect the foot pedal while long lining, crankbaiting or possibly even pushing jigs.

I intend to keep my current maxxum and quick detach both TMs and swap back to the Maxxum for single polling.

The deploy-stow feature is great if it works. Mine is hard to deploy, but it works great on my buddy's boat. The Turns are in finer increments, which makes the autopilot less jerky. Of course, the foot control is much improved. You can also turn the autopilot on/off with the copilot remote. I switch my motors out with a detachable mount also.

Terrova gives ya that lovely little rabbit button on the remote too that the V2 don't got -

so's when you lean over to get a minner outta the bucket, you bump the
rabbit and take off on warp speed :D

I've got so used to it, I can usually sense what's happening and cut it back off before the
    cuss words get finished.

Easy fix, Spray a little Liquid Graphite on the 4 little wheels that cradle the foot of the motor. Then it will jump off in the water. This little tip make's it where you can deploy the motor with one hand. Shoot I use my foot on the release and just touch the shaft to deploy my Terrova.
Even have my Foot control were its easy to steer with very little pressure.

Both Powerdrive V2 and Terrova are compatible with i-Pilot. However, there are some differences:

    1. The foot pedal for the PD V2 is not functional with i-Pilot installed. All PD V2 motor control must be done using the i-Pilot remote. In contrast, the foot pedal retains full functionality when i-Pilot is installed in a Terrova.

    2. Installation: an unbelievable piece of cake with Terrova....significantly more involved with PD V2. I did my Terrova install in about 5 minutes, with 2-3 of those minutes occupied by taking pictures of the process. The instructions for PD V2 install are....substantial.

If you're going to buy a new motor and have an i-Pilot in your sights as well, my recommendation is to buy a Terrova without an autopilot.

I'll try that---liquid graphite is about the only thing I haven't sprayed it with. Checked with a MK service center about the problem, and he told me it was hard to deploy so it wouldn't accidently deploy. I must be a dumb-looking gewber.

Jason...I'd like to buy the new motor with i-pilot (when I'm not so broke either). MK's web-site shows several shaft lengths that are available from the factory with i-pilot installed and ready to go fishin' in both the Terrova and PDV2 models. What they don't really do a good job of is explaining what the extra $300 (versus the Power Drive V2) for the Terrova buys you. The extra 10# thrust is obvious, but is that it? Also, on the PD-V2, can you turn the i-pilot off and have a functional foot control again? It comes with a foot control from the factory with the i-pilot remote. The FAQ section they have doesn't help.

The Terrove maintains the foot control funtionality... the V2 does not
