Default 2D sonar frequency setting on HB

Is there a benefit in running the 2D sonar frequency setting at the blended setting of 200/83 kHz over the setting of 200kHz or 83 kHz..??

Yes, you get the best of both a narrow and wide angle 2D sonar. The narrow beam will show better definition of the bottom and since it’s a higher frequency it has better target separation than the wider beam. The wider beam though covers more of the water column area and will allow for the big arches that some think they need to see to know the sonar is showing them fish.

Now if you are using the 2D sonar to keep positioned over some small structure I would use the narrower 200kHz only due to its smaller sonar beam.
