    Thanks Greg and CP

Canepole, might oughta just call it a generic h'bird/US2 adapter...
while the 2D part of the 797 will work on this setup, it a couple pins
(and elements) short for the SI to work. my lil "in case of emergency" Piranha works w/ this adapter too

Ok Jeff. Pretty much as I thought it worked and is wired. Except the sheild is still unclear per your measurements.

The 2oo/83 signals must be time slotted, thus using the same wire as we discussed previously.

    Interesting stuff.

    Thanks Mr Greg.

Hard to explain sometimes when I hardly know what I'm trying to
    explain

The knurled couplers - one coming from the tm the metal collar itself
shows a circuit to the metal parts of the tm head.

The other knurled part, the end of the adapter cable, is soldered to the
nekkid wire in the adapter cable.

The nekkid wire runs the length of the adapter cable, then apparently
just dead ends up close to the plug on the other end???

It does not have a circuit with any of the three pins on that end, and there
are no metal parts on that end, all plastic.

So it looks to me they have a nekkid wire basically just running inside the
sheath from the tm foot all the way to the back of the df, but not hooked
to anything on that end. And that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

This is not one of our parts so I don’t have access to a drawing for it. Next time you need something quick try direct e-mailing me for it. I usually can check my e-mail several times a day but normally only get to the CC board once a day or so.

This is the pinout for an XNT-9-20-T transducer which this cable should have to use the same connections but seems to use different wire colors (which will not affect anything).

I fount me drawing. This matches billbob's X85 pinout color codes.

Well I'll be... yep, it does! It AND the black wire in the adapter both go
to that pin :o making my head hurt - good thing I don't do this for a
living. Makes more sense now at least.
