Yes, but stay with a smaller card. I have a 512 mb that I use for waypoints for my iFinder H2Oc and to update firmware on my Lowrance 520c's.

Where do I find the howto doit page? I have a neighbor that has an I finder.
    That is all he knows.

I am going to take him out and try to show him how/what to do with the Ifinder. He is 81 years old, but I can get the point across if I get the point myself.:o
need a little help with the waypoint management part. The rest I can figure out wit an emulator.

I am guessing you can move the wpts to the sd card without hooking up a PC?

You can download a manual here.

    Manuals | Lowrance

The iFinder H2Oc doesn't have a computer interface, so the SD card is the only way to move the waypoints. If you/he wants to get them on his computer, he needs a LEI Card Reader, available for about $35 if I recall correctly. Found mine on ebay for less a couple of years ago.

Here are the instructions from the manual:

    1. Insert the MMC into your unit. Press MENU|MENU|↓ to SYSTEM
    SETUP|ENT|↓ to TRANSFER MY DATA|ENT.

    2. The Transfer My Data menu includes a message which tells you if an
MMC is present or not. If no MMC is present, you must insert a card
into the iFINDER to activate the Load or Save commands.
To transfer data from the iFINDER to the MMC, press ENT (for
    SAVE.)
To transfer data from the MMC to the iFINDER, press → to
    LOAD|ENT.
    3. Saving to MMC: To accept the default name Data for the GPS Data
File, press ↓ to SAVE DATA|ENT. If you wish to rename the file, press ENT
to activate the selection box. Press ↑ or ↓ to change the first character,
then press → to the next character and repeat until the name is correct.
Then, press ENT|↓ to SAVE DATA|ENT.
The unit will display a completion message when the data transfer is
finished. To return to the Page view, repeatedly press EXIT.

I have found that the menu system may not exactly match the manual, but with a little searching, you can normally find what you need.

    Hope that helps,

    Jeff

It is just an Ifinder, not the h2o. I believe his mmc card is too large and the Ifinder isn't recognizing the card.

He put a 1gig in the unit, and it gave a error. he tried a 2 gig and it would not recognize it.

I believe I can take the .usr file from a card and use Babel visualizer and convert/store it in any file format I choose. Has anyone tried this visualizer app with the Ifinder .usr files?

Not sure Bill. I will check this Friday. I guess you update via sd, but if it want detect the sd and there is no PC interface, what next?

I have never seen one, but I know I can use it. They are all similar in operation.
