    Default Battery series number question

What exactly does the series number mean? I'm guessing size of the battery? and what if any problems occur if you go up a size?

It's just size. More AMPS. I used to run 27 series and up graded to 29. I haven't had any problems. Just longer trolling time.

Thanks for the info max. Thats what im going to do ,since theres only $5 difference I figured I may as well go for the more amps and trolling time.

That's exactly why I did it.
What really helped was last year, I went digital. WOW!!!! It seems like those batteries last forever.

When you go digital, do you have to up grade your chargers too??

    No, same charger.
I had a regular 5 speed Motorguide 71# 24v. I must admit I hated that unit. It wouldn't troll slow enough and was hard on batteries. After having a 12V 30# unit for over 10 years, I THIUGHT I needed a bigger TM.

I replaced that unit with a Motorguide Tour 56# 12V. It's a digital unit. I just noticed the batteries seem to charge in no time after a day of fishing. The difference is huge. I think MK had the right idea when it came out with the maximizer. If anyone has tyhe means, I would definatley recommend spending the better TM. I'm not brand specific, so either one is okay.
