I discovered something new last week: a grub with a prong sticking out:
Even if the prong wasn't colored using Spike-It, I believe it will catch fish for reasons I can only speculate. One that came to mind is that lures displace water while in motion and focuses a fish's attention on the visual qualities a lure displays such as bumps, ridges and in this case a prong.
It looks nor moves like anything but instead is in contrast to anything fish will experience in their lifetime.
I'll get back to you how well they work when I fish them this spring along with these:
