The toughest in your opinion and how much Gardner do you usually use? I've been adding about 2 tablespoons to 4 is it doesn't seem to harden or toughen it up much.

Hardener is a pain to work with. Get a harder compound to match what you need in a harder bait and soften as needed.

You can order plastic from lure craft which they call saltwater 550 it is a harder plastic it's made specially for making skirts but it makes excellent plastic baits that if you want to take a pounding.

You can order hard plastic from anywhere that sells plastic. There is no such thing as plastic made specifically for tubes. All they've done is added a little additional stabilizer to the mix, they do this because harder compounds tend to yellow faster because they have s lot more resin in them. claiming that it was made specifically for tubes is a marketing thing LOL.
