When some baits cool in the mold they pull plastic from the stringer and if the stringer doesn't have that little extra the baits will pull together making the dimple. Sometimes its a cooling issue too. Try topping off the sprue with a tiny shot of extra plastic before you clean or clear the plastic from the injector.
I would put that extra hot plastic in the sprue all the time. It was amazing to see how many molds will suck that extra plastic down. It stopped the indentations in my lures. Been doing that technique for eight years now. I forget who told me to do that but I'll bet it was Bob Hinkle aka Snake River. We learn a lot on this forum. Pretty soon Fatman will start making soft plastic lures. Right Doug?????
