So a few weekends ago I was at a ramp waiting my turn to put in, when low and behold one of my partners was with someone new! A retired crappie pro. They have hooked up lately and I have really benefited from their partnership . I looked over in his boat and stole hehehehe a secret! They were killing the big crappie on a bait they modified from a big bite squirrel tail and cut the centre piece out and using it! It was putting on a clinic ! So I said to myself I can make that from my spru's . Now ya'll know crappie. Sometime they won't eat what Ya feed them the day before! This day they wanted a 3" bait! So here is what I did. Saved my smaller diameter sprus and dipped them! Guess what like Barnie Fife pow pow pow! They ate it! So our bite is on! Now and I still work full time so I'm all about catching fish right now so I'm making baits that produce! I'll share the color that is wacking them for me right now! Last 3 trips the black chartruese has done it! I added red metal flake to the black! That's the bottom 2 baits under a cork at .7 mph. 1/24 th head !
