I notice that he is using a regular coffee cup instead of a pyrex cup and also what appears to be the end of a fishing rod instead of a metal rod to dip into the soft plastic. Are there any safety concerns here? Does he still coat the dipping rod with Pam first? Very nice visual instructions. It is nice the way people share hints and information on crappie.com.

Ship it is a microwaveable cup,and it was a fishing rod,but I have use round wood stock and sand slick,Pam help but will work if slick, can even paint it, with a heat paint, all is done outside of micro so I never had a problem but I do wear a glove when actual working with it ,and glasses also.

a few comments on how I make the slab slayer might use nails I've enclosed some pictures for you guys to look at I definitely would be used in Pyrex cups instead of a regular coffee cup though it may be safe for microwave I still trust the Pyrex more you could make these little guys many different ways I do have a mold to make them but I do not like the mold is faster making him with the nail than it is to use a mold you can go ahead and make a plug and put that on the end of the nail if you want I do not I usually double dip the plastic bait after I get through: name off the nail what happens when you summer just into hot plastic issue will fill it that had up full of plastic and if you're wanting to make a 2 color you can put it back in.

you forgot to mention you may want to spray a little Pam on the nails do not go overboard it will help when you pull them off.

Great tips and photos on this thread. I will have to go find some 12" nails at the hardware store either that or perhaps Bob will make me four of them and ship them to me with his bill. What do you think Bob?

I went into the shop and found some old wind chimes. This is what I came up with.
