Can a person add a dye spot on the middle of a poured egg? I have the egg mold and I know it is almost impossible to add it while injecting but can it be done afterwards?
Also, how would I add a dye spot to the outside of the egg? I think this could be done with a small piece of plastic in the mold before injecting. Would it be best to do it that way or just use a sharpie to add a color spot?

Fish - I think you're talking about a spot like on beetle grubs but the "How to do it" couldn't tell you as I don't do plastics.
Look at Spike-it lure paint. May be what you are looking for. Spike-It Outdoors, Inc. - Soft Plastic Paint

Just like those. Darker orange spot in the the middle with 2 black stops in the outside.

This will take a little experimenting...but I would go to WalMart and get some T-shirt paint in the little tiny squeeze bottles. It's call Puffy Paint. I would drill a small hole in an egg and squeeze a little of the orange paint into the center, then add a dot of black on the outside and let them dry. When dry...dip in clear plastic to seal.
The paint is water clean up when wet...but t-shirts can be washed after it is dry.
I use this paint to paint on eyes on a lot of my baits. You have to seal them with clear coat...but that's no different than plastic eyes.
if you're wanting a spot on your plastic bait all you have to do is take a toothpick and take some hot plastic and put it on the inside of the cavity and shoot your plastic simple as that.

Ifish is Spot on with the best way! Spike it has the paint designed for soft plastics. It can be dotted or sprayed. Its what the big boys use.
I emailed spike-it to see if their paint can be injected or not. If it can be it might be the way to go to get the right look.
I will try the 2 hot plastics colors at once idea but I am terrible dealing with one at a time right now. I need to get a hot plate or 2 if I am gonna do much of that. Using a microwave for it will be tough.
T-Shirt paint might work but that stuff has an odor for what seems like forever. Not sure if I can get all the color to stay translucent inside the egg though using it.
