Agree with what was said:

  • pyrex cup (not the large one)
  • metal butter knife (not a spoon)
  • raw plastic to cover plastic chunks
  • 30 seconds - stir and repeat
  • if the stuff starts to smoke, it's way too hot
  • a glass candy thermometer is a great investment to show how low the heat can be to pour (for me 300 degrees) and prevent browning on the second or third reheat
  • consider adding softener - old plastic has a habit of becoming too firm from multiple reheats; the best tail action requires soft plastic the thicker it is
  • too reheat for a second consecutive pour after the first pour only takes about 20 seconds
