i had a guy make me a tube mold but he had trouble with the pins. He never could get them right where they would cut the skirts. he said he spent lots of time and went through a few cutting tools trying to get the pins made. i can not remember what i paid for it but i sold it. he said he would not make another one because it cost too much to make it worth it. the problem is for what it cost for the mold maker to produce it, most of us can not afford the price it would cost to buy it. I do not blame the mold guys one bit for not wanting to fool with it. i just wish there was a less expensive more efficient way to do it with an injection mold

there are ways to get around the expense if you notice that some of them are making a pinwheel skirt all they have to do is make a impression in the center for the body and the rest would be the legs come on off to the side it would have more of a fan type action may be more action but it just one way that they can do it if they would use a press to make the cams it would be very inexpensive I don't know how Rick made them but I knew that he didn't do it himself he had them made but if somebody would come out with a press to make the cams it would cut down on the cost dramatically and I believe that a simple little press would not cost that much to build one I do not have a ton of money to mess with it myself but if I had I would've bought a milling machine by now and start making molds myself though I'm not a machinist but I've worked around messing with it a little bit I'm sure that all of us guys would love to have one of those machines to cut molds there are a infamous million different things that are in our mind that we can put down into the computer to cut some molds I would gladly pay the money to have custom-made molds and I have already but we would do surely love to find a few more mold makers to do some work we will be sending some more designs out later.

I don't know how many of you know that Rick Jacobs has broadened his website to include a board of forums similar to this so people can discuss their handiwork. Access is thru his home page. Nice little chat area.
