Several things could cause the air bubbles. .... Overheating, moisture in the cups, stirring too early.... Were you using remelts?

If you let the plastic sit the bubbles will rise and most will pop. Or you can skim them off the top.

Could be from stirring too fast or hard. I've done that struggling to get the glitter off the bottom of the cup. In my haste I beat a froth into the plastic, kinda like whipping up scrambled eggs. Sometimes I hurry trying to get a few more shots in before I have to reheat the plastic; that's usually where I make mistakes or get burnt. I guess the patience I try to learn on the water would be put to good use at the pouring table...

And if you're using remelts, like RonDon suggested, be sure you're chopping them into tiny bits before you use them.

I think he has just been so excited over the new boat that he stirred too agressively and whipped air into the plastic.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I think I was stirring too fast. No, they were not remelts but new plastisol. I wonder if I whip them faster and get more air in them would they float off the bottom in a modified "Carolina type rig" for deep water crappie? If not I will just use them on a floating jig head. David, you are right. I have been spending too much time with Legacy. It will get slimed this week.

Well that helps me with my bubble problem hopefully. I think I always stir too early. Thank you Ship for finding the answers before I thought to ask.

Tiny bubbles belong in something other than our plastics.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

If You shake Your raw plastic in the jug really good before You cook it and then cook it immediately after shaking the jug, You will have a lot of bubbles in the plastic. Shake the jug and then let sit for ten minutes or so before cooking up fresh plastic.CF
